Leadership Goals And Objectives Of Leadership Essay

Conflicts and crises within a society or in an organization setting are the roots of leadership because, it is under these circumstances that the warring parties engage in activities that are aimed at outwitting their opponents by convincing groups of people into action. It is also during these circumstances that the decisions of one individual with leadership qualities are pivotal to the entire population of his/her followers. A leader needs to have good qualities of leadership in order to guide his followers. With regards to this, there are four elements that are associated with leadership (Peterson, Walumbwa, Byron, Myrowitz, 2009). Thirdly, leaders are individuals who come to the forefront during times of crisis in order to provide a solution to their followers, and fourthly, leaders are individuals who have clear goals and o bjectives to achieve. Following the above criteria, leaders should be individuals who have the capacity to think creatively and engage into actions in different circumstances with the aim of influencing the feelings, actions and beliefs of their followers. The focus of leadership is to create and concentrate on achieving a common vision, and this involves the task of motivating people (followers) to make contributions in the effort towards achieving this vision (Hackman Ruth, 2007).
